FAQs

How much is it to rent a space?

​£50 a day.

 

When is the shop open?

We are open all year round with these hours;

Thursday – 10am – 4pm

Friday – 10am – 4.30pm

Saturday – 10am – 5pm

Sunday – 10am – 4pm

These hours are subject to change according to seasons.

 

Do I have to be there in person or can my products be sold without me being there?

Yes, you must have someone in your space to sell your products.  We are not an emporium and cannot sell for you.  We also truly believe it is the best thing for your business to be there, so customers can get the best experience.

 

What is the size of the space?

​Each pod is slightly different in shape but all are approx. 7ft x 7ft.

 

Do I need insurance?

​Yes you will need your own Public Liability Insurance.  We recommend up to 5 million for being in a shop space.

 

Do you provide a table?

​No, we don’t provide any fixtures or fittings other than moveable countertops that can be rented at £5 a day.  Please email for more information.

 

Do you accept food and drink traders?

​We only accept cold food traders such as; cookies, cakes, preserves etc.  You will need your own certification. And we can have traders selling alcohol if you have the proper licensing.  We cannot have hot food traders.

 

Can I share a space with another trader?

​Yes of course you can.  We recommend that you have a similar aesthetic or have products that sit well side by side to make for a cohesive experience for customers in the shop environment.

 

Do you offer any marketing?

We will promote your business within a post on Instagram in the days leading up to the week you are trading.  We recommend posting about your business being at the Whitstable shop and we can re-share any stories you tag us in too.

Is there wi-fi?

​Yes we offer access to our wi-fi, so you can easily take payments.

 

Is there a toilet?

​Yes, there is an accessible toilet.

 

Can I load/unload nearby?

​There are loading bays nearby for easy access to load and unload.  Please note there is a step in the entrance to the shop.  You will be able to access the shop to set up from 9am on your day of trading.  If you need more time, please mention when you get in touch to book.

 

Is there a car park nearby?

​Yes, there are plenty of pay per hour car parks within a 5-10 minute walk of the shop. 

Gladstone Road Car Park and Middle Wall Car Park are the closest.

 

I can't attend, can I get a refund?

​In the unfortunate event you can’t attend, we will need 48 hours notice.  No refunds are given, we can offer to postpone to the next available and suitable date.

 

I am interested in running a workshop, what do I do?

​We love to host our space for workshops.  Please email Octavia at wesellbythesea@gmail.com with your workshop idea and information and we can go over the details.
